Privacy Policy

Punjabi Akhara · Effective date: 14 October 2026

Punjabi Akhara ("the app") is a Punjabi learning app made by LTL Productions ("we"). This page explains what information the app uses and why.

What stays on your phone

Your learning progress (the days you practised, scenes you finished and packs you unlocked) is saved only on your device. We do not run any server, we do not have user accounts, and we never receive this information. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Advertising

The app shows ads from Google AdMob, including optional video ads that unlock bonus content. To show and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google's use of this data is described in its policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy choices. On any Android phone you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings under Privacy → Ads.

Pronunciation and speaking practice

The "Sun", "Suno" and "Hauli" buttons use your phone's built-in text-to-speech engine. Text is spoken by your phone and is not sent to us.

In the Akhar section you can tap "Bolo" to say a letter or word and have it checked. Only then, and only after you allow microphone access, the app uses your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google's) to turn what you said into text. That service may process your voice on its own servers under its own privacy policy. The app compares the text with the expected letter on your phone. It does not record, store or send your voice or the text to us.

Links to other sites

Listening links open YouTube, BBC News Punjabi or other websites in their own apps or your browser. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is made for learners of all ages, including children. When the app is first opened it asks the user's age group, without suggesting an answer. For users under 13:

For users aged 13 to 15, ads are not personalised where the law requires consent from an older person. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no accounts, chat with other people or sharing features.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
